Stevie Russell
Stevie is a writer and director based in Wicklow, Ireland. In 2023, his script The Cousin was selected from hundreds and produced by RTÉ and Screen Ireland. In 2024, he co-wrote Department of Death with Tony Cantwell and Alison Spittle, which was picked up by Assembly Films and awarded development funding from Screen Ireland. He also co-wrote the upcoming sci-fi feature Seedling with Stephen Shields (Abigail), now in pre-production with Traction in the US. Stevie won the Cannes Young Director Award (YDA) in 2012, and since then has directed large-scale campaigns across the globe for brands like Lidl, Heineken, KFC, Nestlé, and Ford—filming everywhere from Israel and Kyiv to Argentina, Kazakhstan, and South Africa. His music videos have amassed over half a billion views, including Kodaline’s All I Want, which went viral with over 200 million hits. His first short film Unsaid was a Vimeo Staff Pick. Recent work includes a Tayto campaign that earned a Silver Shark for Comedy Direction, a Sports Clio for his work with Lidl, and a European Effie for a meaningful campaign with Breast Cancer Ireland—showcasing his range from heartfelt to hilarious.
