Ailill Martin
Ailill is a Director and Documentary Filmmaker from Tipperary, Ireland. His work centres around unorthodox characters and curious stories from the fringes of society. He is known for his ability to marry striking visuals with comedic themes, while carefully crafting real life narratives. Ailill’s documentaries challenge perceptions and explore ideas through a concise and cinematic approach. He began his career as a Cinematographer before directing his debut documentary, “Hit the Wall”, which was nominated for best doc at CIFF and later acquired for broadcast by TG4. His film “The Good Farmer and the Failed Son” was produced by NETFLIX, nominated for best doc at Raindance and Slamdance, and awarded a VIMEO STAFF PICK. Ailill recently collaborated with Werner Herzog on a new short doc, while also debuting as a commercial director and beginning work on his first feature film.
