Director
Nick Kelly
Nick has directed powerful and engaging TV spots and online films for clients as diverse as AIB, Barry’s Tea, Yuno Energy, Newstalk Radio, Clonakilty Black Pudding, the Irish Film Archive (featuring Saoirse Ronan) and the Simon Communities. Nick began writing and directing short films in 2003. His third short Shoe was Oscar-shortlisted at the 2011 Academy Awards, and his debut feature "The Drummer And The Keeper" (2017) won 18 awards on the international film circuit. Having initially qualified as a solicitor (and given up the same day) Nick has enjoyed stellar success in a variety of creative fields. In addition to his work as a director, he is a Clio-winning copywriter and a Choice Music Prize-nominated musical artist. Most recently he directed, produced and starred in The Song Cycle, for which he travelled to the 2022 Glastonbury Festival by bicycle, playing concerts en route and filming his journey. The resulting feature length documentary won Best Independent Film at the Galway Film Fleadh and Audience Choice at the IFI Documentary Festival, and was nominated for the German Federal Government's Eisvoigel Award for Sustainable Production, announced at the start of the 2025 Berlinale.
